Sisterhood
Dear Sisterhood Members,
The past two years as Sisterhood President flew by all too quickly, and now, I look forward to the next two. I look at those two very successful years as my “training period” and plan to put everything I learned to work for us in 2025-7. As always, I would like to acknowledge some of our accomplishments. For example, over 200 members renewed their membership with us. Thank you to Rita Brown, Sally Gordon and Beverly Levine. I am also proud to announce that we reached our Torah Fund goal both years. Thank you Berenice Haberman and Milisa Flekier.
Our Warm-Up America knitters and crocheters knitted more than 50 blankets which were donated to families in need through Synergy, the KC Hospice House and others—thank you Chair, Naomi Silverman. We also donated thousands of disposable diapers to Happy Bottoms. Thank you, Susan Krigel. In addition, I want to thank Carol Peltzie and Stephanie Kavanaugh for co-Chairing Bams for Mams which raised money for Breast Cancer Research.
We held several programs for multi-generational families including wine tasting, game playing, doormat making and planting succulents. Thank you, Danielle Antes. And, we had a beautiful Tu B’Shevat Seder—thank you Audrey Asher and Alisa Meireis. Our year-long Peltzman study took us into the Chumash with Women of Valor as well as the discussion of “what is l’shon ha rah?”, thanks to Leah Haller and Hazzan Ben-Yehuda.
These were just a few of our projects and the VP’s or Chairs that planned them. And now, we look to the future—5787-89. What do we want you to look forward to? Well, keep reading our monthly newsletter (thank you Amy Goldstein and Shira Wajcman) and logging on to this website (thank you Miles Ross) and mark your calendars with the upcoming dates. AND, if you would like to get more involved, contact me at jgoldstein0127@gmail.com. Do I have a job for you? YES, I do.
Wishing you all a wonderful 5787; filled with Sisterhood activities, learning, laughter and the love of Judaism.
Jill Goldstein, President
