100 Years of Voting: Unfinished Business

Beth Shalom Sisterhood’s first program of the year was September 8. The timely topic was “100 years of Women Voting: Unfinished Business.”

Our presenter, Jenna Brofsky, was elected to the Fairway City Council in November 2019. In addition to running for office as a woman and attending law school and practicing as an attorney, she is precinct committeewoman for her neighborhood. She is charged with making sure those residents are registered to vote and understand how to participate in elections. When training for this role and when running for office, she attended trainings., including by the National Democratic Training Committee and the Kansas Federation of Democratic Women.
